Cleveland dealers barely post lease numbers

We scraped every Cleveland-area dealer for all eight brands. Only a handful publish AWD lease prices at all: Elyria Hyundai, Bass Mazda, Cleveland Kia + Ganley Medina (Kia), Spitzer (Toyota bZ), Motorcars (Volvo), Motorcars Acura (RDX + MDX), Infiniti of Akron. Everything else is a phone call (the dealer + number is in the cell). The national programs shown as "est." are the floor any franchised dealer will honor; they are a starting point, not a quote.

Real 2-year AWD deals are rare: only Kia (Sorento gas S $299, EV9 $189, plus national Seltos/Sportage) and Hyundai Palisade ($339, Elyria) post genuine ones. BMW, Volvo, Mazda and Toyota are 36 or 39 months only.

Your Clinic perks, baked into the effective total

• Kia (Montrose): employee pricing = invoice minus 3% + $400 rebate (~$1,200-2,300 off cap cost) PLUS free car washes for life (worth ~$250/yr in Cleveland). Montrose posts no numbers, call (440) 934-6699.
• Volvo (Motorcars A-Plan): employee pricing + bonus, ~$3,000 off cap cost, stacks with Costco. The biggest single discount here.
• Infiniti (Airport): $1,500 under invoice (~$40/mo). Their website is dead, call (216) 245-9179.
• BMW (Corporate): Cleveland Clinic is a named partner, certificate up to $1,500 in lease credit.
• Hyundai: its $500 bonus is a first-responder program (EMS/fire/police), so a hospitalist physician may NOT qualify, verify before counting on it. Not baked into the totals.
• Toyota and Mazda: no Clinic deal (Mazda has a $500 conquest reward if you trade a non-Mazda).
• Acura (Motorcars, same lot as the discounted Volvo store): the Cleveland Clinic A-Plan is Volvo-only and does NOT carry over to Acura (confirmed on the dealer's own discount page), and Acura runs no employer program of its own. So no Clinic discount on Acura, just a public $1,000 loyalty/conquest anyone can use. Worth one call to (440) 439-8400 to be sure.

Timing: what to avoid and what is fresh

• Do not lease (end-of-life): Infiniti QX50/QX55 are discontinued; BMW X5 (new gen 2026-27) and iX (replacement imminent) are end-of-cycle; Acura RDX is a lame-duck final year (no 2027 model, all-new 2028 coming), and Acura's ZDX (electric) and TLX (sedan) are already discontinued, so neither is in this table.
• Freshly redesigned: Toyota RAV4 (2026), BMW X3, Mazda CX-5, Hyundai Palisade, Kia Telluride (2027) - good timing, but first-year reliability data is thin.
• Facelift coming (leverage): Hyundai Santa Fe, Hyundai Kona and Volvo XC60 all get a 2027 update.

Two honest cautions for a salt-belt winter car

BMW is the strictest brand at lease return. Zero damage allowance, and rust-through is chargeable, which Cleveland road salt accelerates. Budget the BMW wear protection (~$800-1,000) if you go that route.

Reliability spread is real. Toyota, Mazda and the Hyundai Tucson are the strong bets. Kia Sorento and Mazda CX-90 score below average. Volvo ranks 29th of 30 brands (a lease blunts this). Infiniti is a brand in decline; the QX60 is a good car, but a Lexus RX or Acura MDX would out-last it outside these eight.

Why August is the lucky month (and what the "Aug discount" column means)

Cars are sold by model year, and the 2027s start landing on lots in late summer, so dealers discount the leftover 2026s to clear space. That model-year-end clearance runs roughly August to October, exactly when Haseeb has to sign for his work start. The month he must commit is the month the discounts go live: he does not have to choose between getting the car on time and getting a good price.

The Aug discount column rates how much waiting until then is likely to lower his lease payment: Heavy, Good, Standard, or Light (a fresh model at near full price). Sort by it to see what is most worth waiting for. It is lease-payment-specific on purpose, because of one catch.

The catch: a clearance discount cuts the car's price, but a lease payment also depends on the residual (what the bank says the car is worth at hand-back), and a dying model often gets a weak residual that eats the discount. The exception is lease cash, a manufacturer rebate aimed at the lease, which the lessee keeps no matter what. Right now the lapsed federal electric-car credit has makers pouring $7,500 to $10,000 of lease cash onto EVs, so even dying electrics are cheap to lease. The trap is a gas model at end-of-life with no lease cash: the BMW X5 is the clearest one, a big sticker cut that barely moves the lease payment.
